Description:

  1. The Director/Executive Director will lead the Natick Historical Society and Museum toward the achievement of its mission and its strategic direction. The Director will provide strategic, visible, and inspirational leadership to the organization, including the Staff (a part-time Curator), and the Volunteers. He/she will oversee the administration and management of NHS, its programs and operations and in partnership with the Board, its fundraising and financial plans.
  2. The Director is a year-round, 4 day per week (28 hour) position. hired by and directly accountable to the NHS Board of Directors through its elected President,
Qualifications:

  1. At least 3 to 5 years experience in a small to mid-sized museum organization, preferably an historical society with a substantial group of active Volunteers.
  2. Demonstrated success in a leadership and management role.
  3. Ability to administratively lead the organization–its Staff, and its Volunteers–and act as a strategic partner with the Board.
  4. Proven ability in the creation of organizational and process efficiencies

5. Bachelors degree in history or related field is necessary, an advanced degree, preferably in archival management, is desired.
