MASS MoCA is seeking an experienced, energetic, detailed-oriented museum educator to join its collaborative working environment. The Special Projects Educator will work with the Director of Education + Curator of Kidspace to primarily support the coordination of special grant-funded projects.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 
Artist Services: liaison to artists; coordination of artist schedules, travel, and housing; co-design Kidspace artist residencies with artists; and oversee administrative details with artists who conduct artist talks.
Evaluation: oversee evaluation project with Goodman Research Group; collation of data; coordinate evaluation needs with teachers and students; maintain evaluation records; and plan evaluation of future programs.
Curatorial Assistance: work with Curator of Kidspace to plan exhibitions with artists; coordinate installation schedule with artists; organize exhibition promotional information for Marketing and Development departments; oversee Education and Kidspace social media and DAM database; manage Kidspace archives; and maintain cleanliness of gallery and off-site art installation.
Art Assembly: coordinate school schedules for performances; work with Performing Arts department to select dates for programs and to write teacher’s guides.
Grants: assist with grant administration including: oversight of project details and implementation to ensure grant compliance; documentation, promotional materials and video; reporting; budgeting; ordering supplies; and writing contracts for consultants/artists/overhires. Assist with future planning of grants such as for ArtInSight, Kidspace exhibition projects, and adult programs.
Budgets: assist with managing complex annual department budget, as well as specific restricted grant budgets, and oversee weekly invoices and staff timesheets.
Gallery Teaching: as with all Education Department staff, conduct tours as needed, but at least one tour per week.

The candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in education (art or museum), arts administration, or art history, and at least 1 – 3 years experience. The ideal candidate should be skilled as an effective communicator and have strong writing skills; can work independently, but also as a team player; has an outgoing, positive personality and a knack for connecting with people of many backgrounds.
