Job Title: Coordinator of Teacher Programs, Department of Museum

Reports to: Director of Teacher Programs

Duties

Works under Director to coordinate all aspects of teacher workshop
scheduling, administration, and implementation; includes development and
implementation of short and long-term strategic goals and objectives for
teacher professional development; helps to coordinate and support
special projects; works with Teacher Advisory Panel. Designs,
administrates, and often conducts all open-enrollment workshops for pre
K-12 teachers of all disciplines, school librarians, teaching artists,
community educators, home school parents, and pre-service teachers on
how to incorporate visual art‹specifically the museum¹s collections and
special exhibitions‹into their curriculum and orients them to resources
available in the museum; sets themes, goals and objectives for
workshops; hires teaching staff, if needed; manages course/seminar
registration, museum space reservation, records; carries out program
assessment and evaluation as appropriate.  Provides program support for
all work of Teacher Programs division and collaborations with Student
Programs division.

Qualifications

B.A. in art history, art, art education, museum education or
humanities‹MA preferred; classroom and museum teaching experience;
staff development, curriculum writing, and 2-3 years art museum
education experience preferred; prior work with diverse populations
desirable; excellent oral/written communication skills, ability to
multi-task and prioritize.
