(Full time, 30 hours per week)

The Exhibition Assistant will assist with organizing, installing, and de-installing exhibits, preparing printed material (label, card, and catalogue text drafting and proofing), wall and exhibit furniture, hanging lights, handling artwork, managing the Wikoff Student Gallery, assisting with routine registrarial duties including maintenance of databases, writing condition reports, processing loan and reproduction requests, assessing hanging requirements, moving art around campus, revising collection database and handling storage of art. Other duties include photographing and processing new acquisitions, photographing works of art, installations, and events, creating shared files for each, and maintaining the Gallery web site.

Job Requirements

Qualifications: Baccalaureate degree required, with an Art History degree preferred. Excellent computer skills with specific knowledge of Mac computers, PC platforms, Photoshop, database software, and Microsoft Word required with previous museum or gallery experience preferred. Must be able to follow direction but also work independently, and possess good communication and interpersonal skills. Must have some flexibility in regard to an occasional need to work evenings and/or weekends.
