Membership Coordinator

Classification: Regular/Full-Time

Location: Otis House, Beacon Hill, Boston, Mass.

Description: Historic New England seeks to add a skilled, high-energy, and personable individual to its dynamic nine-member development team. Reporting to the Vice President for Advancement, the Membership Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining the Raiser’s Edge database, including data hygiene; creating queries, exports, and reports; and assigning and tracking appeals, solicitations, and donor and prospect attributes.

The Membership Coordinator will serve as a vital front-line customer service ambassador, responding to phone calls, e-mails, and correspondence from staff, members, and the general public, and helping to promote membership at Historic New England special events, many of which are on weekends.

Responsibilities: She/he will be responsible for the preparation of monthly membership performance reports and will oversee and participate in the gift processing and membership acknowledgment processes, producing weekly gift acknowledgment letters, membership cards, and other appropriate membership fulfillment materials in a timely manner.

This position will be based at Otis House until early in 2013 after which time the Membership Coordinator will work out of Historic New England’s Haverhill office, which is conveniently located across the street from an MBTA commuter rail stop.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will be proficient in Raiser’s Edge and have a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of two years of job-related experience. This valued member of the development team should be personable, well-organized, and detail-oriented, and possess superior word processing, spreadsheet, and e-mail management skills. A valid driver’s license is required.
