The Society for the Preservation of Long Island Antiquities (SPLIA), seeks
an experienced Registrar to perform collections management duties including
accessioning, data entry, managing and improving storage areas, overseeing
conservation activities, and maintaining collection records.

Job Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major
course work in art, history, anthropology studies or a related field.
• Two years of full-time museum collection and registration experience
• Thorough understanding of museum registration practices to include
environmental standards, storage methods, artifact care and handling
techniques, loan management and conservation practices
• Ability to work independently or with a team
• Knowledge of and ability to use Past Perfect Museum Software 5.0 and
relational databases such as Content DM
• Familiar with Photoshop or similar photo processing software
• Knowledge of Content Management System websites
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Flexibility to travel and/or work extended hours as needed.
• A valid driver’s license is required

Salary is commensurate with experience.
