Woodmere Art Museum, located in the Chestnut Hill neighborhood of Philadelphia, is seeking candidates with expertise in art education for the position of Associate Curator of Education.  Woodmere’s mission is to inspire creativity, learning, and self-expression through experiences with the art and artists of Philadelphia and the region, and candidates who demonstrate a passion for the arts of Philadelphia will be favored.

The Associate Curator of Education will report to the Robert L. McNeil, Jr. Curator of Education and will be a central participant in the development of education programs and public programs, with broad responsibilities across the institution.

The Associate Curator of Education’s responsibilities will include implementation of gallery interpretation, organization of programs, coordination of docent and tour schedules, management of the Studio program, and working with school groups, outreach programs and museum visitors of all ages.

Requirements are a Bachelor of Arts degree in art or art education, with a Master’s preferred, and a demonstrated history of achievement in museum education. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, have a knowledge of art history, and possess strong administrative and writing skills. Weekend hours are required.
