Founded in 2008, Gallery 263 has grown in leaps and bounds; it is our hope that the new Program Coordinator will collaborate with the Managing Director in building a sustainable future for the organization. This part-time (avg. 25 hours/week) Program Coordinator will be passionate about the arts and have creative ideas for fundraising and programming on a shoe-string budget.
• Manage Gallery 263’s main programs: Exhibition Programs (Curatorial Proposal Series, Juried Exhibition Series, School Art Shows, and Members’ Exhibition) and Artist Residence Program, including logistics, outreach, promotion/marketing, liaising with constituents, etc.
• Exhibition design and installation as needed
• Work with Managing Director to schedule and execute events, rentals and fundraisers
• Act as the first contact for Gallery 263 inquiries
• Train, mentor and coordinate interns and volunteers
• Responsible for staffing Gallery open hours
• Purchase and maintain Gallery supplies
• Responsible for maintaining the appearance and cleanliness of Gallery 263

 

 

Qualifications:
• Passion for community art organizations and for fostering local culture in the community
• At least a BA or BFA, an arts related background is preferred
• Able to think critically and creatively and problem solve independently
• Able to work autonomously as well as collaborate with colleagues, volunteers and artists
• Excellent writing and organizational skills
• Installation and exhibition design experience preferred
• Experience with social media, google/gmail, standard software strongly preferred
• Good sense of humor
• Flexibility to work some nights and weekends
