Minimum Qualifications: M.Sc., M.Eng., M.Ed. required, Ph.D. or Ed.D preferred with a minimum of 10 years of increasing project management experience, including responsibility for program development, implementation, and oversight in formal or informal education settings. Must be a proven leader of educational programs in complex learning environments in formal or informal education settings (preferably both), with solid knowledge of effective national and international STEM-based educational programs and demonstrated capacity to navigate the landscapes of the scientific, educational, political, and lay society with a lens on STEM education. Minimum 10 years teaching experience, developing STEM curriculum and creating and delivering teacher professional development in the K-12 arena; robust knowledge of pedagogy and inquiry-based, hands-on education; minimum 7 years working directly with partner educational organizations/institutes serving the K-16 community. Must posses demonstrated understanding of the varied landscapes of basic science research, industry, K-12, and the informal science community, ability to work exceptionally well with various levels of professionals including associates, managers, assistant directors, directors, and vice presidents. Must be effective communicator with proven record of giving oral presentations and drafting written reports and demonstrated sbility with major communication and data analysis software.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for all aspects of the administration and implementation of the ECASE grant for The Franklin Institute (TFI). Works with ECASE partner organizations (WL, TIES, 21PSTEM) to ensure effective implementation of proposed deliverables by the partnership and that the partnership complies with USAID regulations. Leads the implementation of TFI-specific deliverables for ECASE, including, but not limited to, school design, resource material development, teacher professional development, administration training, extracurricular program development, drafting of reports, budget review, and administration of the grant. Organizes and ensures the delivery of teacher professional development, both in country (Egypt) and virtually. Organizes and ensures the delivery of extracurricular activities, both in country and virtual for Egyptian STEM Students. Working with partners, organizes and ensures a connection for public-private partnerships to support the STEM-platform schools, including identifying a role for informal science centers in Egypt in the schools and develops a comprehensive distance-learning program to support effective teaching and learning. Works closely with ECASE partners, the Egyptian MOE and local Egyptian stakeholders to ensure the capacity to deliver professional development, curriculum and advisory training through the use of digital technologies. Works with partner institutions to ensure excellent communication amongst all ECASE partners and Egyptian stakeholders. Works with TFI staff in the thoughtful planning and implementation of cutting-edge ideas around science literacy and improved societal recognition for STEM disciplines. Works closely with development department to strategically examine grant opportunities to sustain international STEM efforts. Generates grant and contract funding from public and private sources at an average of $2-2.5M annually to support all expenses for educational research including materials and staffing. Responsible for developing and sustaining essential collaborative partnerships with international organizations/institutes to support STEM teaching and learning.
