THE ART INSTITUTE OF CHICAGO is seeking a professional who can act as a critical member of the Member Experience team responsible for implementing innovative event and programming strategies to engage and retain members. This position will create, coordinate, and manage all member events and programming. This position will also serve as the main contact for Lionhearted members contributing $500 to $2,499 annually. Plans, manages, and staff all member events (Member Previews, Member Appreciation Days, Lectures, Receptions, Classes, Workshops, Tours, etc.) Works closely and effectively with other departments (Bon Appetit, Visitor Services, Volunteers and Protection Services) as well as manages vendor relationships (project management, budget, invoices, and reports) with event vendors (entertainment, floral, decor, etc.). This position will also be responsible for budget and expenses related to all events and programming throughout each fiscal year.

A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE MUST HAVE a Bachelor’s Degree is required. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in managing events and planning programming. Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) required. Experience with Raisers Edge preferred. Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills required. Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated experience in working with cross-functional teams. Superior public contact skills; strong communication skills, both written and oral. Creative thinker and solution finder. Demonstrated experience in taking initiative when planning and executing projects. Experience in managing vendor relationships and cross-functional teams. Outstanding organizational ability, accuracy, detail-oriented and accustomed to deadlines. Project management and attention to detail a must. Enthusiasm and desire to make an impact mandatory.
