Function Manager (Rentals/Special Events)

 

Description:
Responsibility for coordination and management of all facility rentals and some fund raising events at Gore Place, an historic house museum ad farm in Waltham and Watertown, MA. Applicants should have previous experience in hospitality or in a position working with the public; be courteous and comfortable with the public in person, on the telephone and through email; be detail oriented, flexible, organized and reliable, proficient in spoken and written English and comfortable using Microsoft Office; enjoy teamwork; be able to work weekends, holidays and evening hours as required; and, become knowledgeable about history, mission and programs at Gore Place, be able to give a tour of the Gore mansion and participate as a member of the Gore Place team in planning and implementation of museum programs including annual events such as the Sheepshearing Festival and the December holiday teas.

Qualifications:
Previous experience in hospitality or in a position working with the public; be courteous and comfortable with the public in person, on the telephone and through email; be detail oriented, flexible, organized and reliable, proficient in spoken and written English and comfortable using Microsoft Office; enjoy teamwork; be able to work weekends, holidays and evening hours as required.
