The Old South Meeting House, a busy non-profit museum, historic site and active meeting place in downtown Boston, seeks a dependable and outgoing individual to assist in the operation of the museum in order to ensure a high-quality and enjoyable experience for more than 75,000 visitors each year. This part-time position handles opening, operation and closing of museum on Sundays, Mondays, and additional days as needed. The Visitor Services Assistant Manager reports directly to the Visitor Services Director and assists with all aspects of museum operation, in maintaining a high level of visitor satisfaction, and in supervising a staff of 2-3 museum assistants daily.

Qualifications:
Prior related experience demonstrating strong communication and customer service skills and enthusiasm for working daily with the public; experience managing staff and/or volunteers; dependability; ability to coordinate multiple tasks; a passion and interest in American history and talking about it with museum visitors. Museum experience a plus. Must be available to work Sundays and Mondays; additional days possible. In addition, this position is eligible to be considered for managing evening events.
