Hilferty, a leading interpretive planning and exhibit design firm is seeking a Senior Content Developer/Writer to join our creative team and play a leadership role in creating compelling story lines and memorable visitor experiences in museums and visitor centers across the country.

The Senior Content Developer/Writer must be able to guide clients and consultants, as well as the Hilferty design team, in the content development process. They are responsible for researching story content to create the exhibit story line, and for ensuring the exhibit design supports it. The Senior Developer produces written materials including but not limited to project phase reports, content outlines, visitor experience conceptual narratives, audiovisual and interactive element treatments, exhibit component descriptions, label copy, and marketing materials. The Senior Developer works with Exhibit Designers to refine the visitor experience, and to select and critique exhibition media. The candidate must be highly organized, efficient, and flexible through all phases of projects and in working with all project team members.

Qualifications include:

Project development experience through all exhibit development phases
Excellent research, communication and writing skills
Excellent organizational skills; efficient and effective
Ability to think conceptually and visually, from the big-picture overview to details
Experience facilitating meetings
Ability to interact with clients with an efficient and professional demeanor
Ability to work well with a team
Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines
Project management and supervisory experience preferred

Preferred candidates will possess a Bachelor’s degree or higher (English, History, Museum Studies, Communications or other related fields) and a minimum of three years of related museum experience.
