In collaboration with the Executive Director, the Director of Programmatic will provide direction, follow up and administrative leadership to its exhibitions, registrar, curatorial, library, archive, conservation, collections management and education staff.

This position will be working with the programmatic areas (registrar, curatorial, library, archive, conservation, collections management and education staff) to infuse the Museum with vision, energy and excitement and with a clear and strong leadership and supervision focus in advancing the individual talents. In addition, this position will provide structure, controls and aid providing direction to programmatic staff toward the achievement of the Museum’s vision and collection’s conservation.

Job Requirements

Bachelor degree (Master degree preferable) in art history, curatorial or museum’s studies or a related field. Five to eight years in relevant museum experience. Preferable in museum registration; thorough knowledge of best practices in object handling, crating and shipping, insurance, and conservation; project management skills with a strong attention to detail; experience with budgeting and financial planning processes; strict adherence to professional ethics and a high museum standard of care and security; evident practice of a high level of confidentiality; ability to work independently and interdepartmentally; strong written and oral communication skills in Spanish and English. Proficiency in TMS database software, knowledge of image acquisitions, and experience with securing image rights is preferred. relevant museum experience.
