The List, the contemporary art museum at MIT, is seeking volunteers to facilitate monthly family programs at the museum.  Volunteers act as facilitators and program assistants for drop-in workshops at the museum. Facilitators connect hands-on art making with current exhibitions through experimentation, access to quality art materials, and use of visual thinking strategies to encourage engagement with the arts for multigenerational visitors. Volunteers should also expect to assist with set-up and breakdown of the events as well as prototype projects. Assisting with marketing is periodic.
No prior experience is needed, but interest in working with youth of diverse backgrounds, art education, museum education, or studio practice is required. The position is unpaid but lunch is provided during shifts.
