Maine Maritime Museum, an internationally recognized cultural institution located on the Kennebec River in Bath seeks an Education Coordinator who will play a key role in the development and implementation of the museums interpretive and educational programs and help the museum continue to grow and excel. The Education Coordinator supports the mission and goals of Maine Maritime Museum by giving top priority to strategic plan initiatives, teamwork, and public service. Under direct supervision of the Director of Programs & Operations and working in close collaboration with public programs, curatorial, and other museum staff and volunteers, this position is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating the museums interpretive and educational programs. The goal of public programs is to educate the community and a worldwide audience about the important role of Maine in regional and global maritime activities by offering relevant, compelling, and engaging educational programs that connect the past to contemporary and future issues while increasing attendance and building community and financial support for the Museum.
