Danforth Art is accepting applications for the position of Curatorial Intern for Spring and Summer 2015. Curatorial Interns will assist with exhibition planning, including art handling and transport, collections management, research, interpretation, signage, and installation. Interns will assist in varied projects to provide curatorial content for exhibition and collections material. Curatorial interns will also assist staff in preparation for installation and deinstallation of the Museum’s exhibitions. This is an unpaid internship, although valuable experience will be gained. Availablity 203 days a week is preferred.
Qualifications:
Open to qualified college or graduate students. The Curatorial Intern position is hands-on and requires attention to detail, organization, sound judgement, and collaborative teamwork. Comfort and familiarity with museum standards for handling artwork and exhibition installation is expected, including the ability to lift and climb. Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point are preferred; graphic design is a plus.
