The Guest Experience Bilingual Programs Specialist will work with the Managers of Guest Experience Programs and Aquarium Adventures as well as an interdivisional team of staff, and will be responsible for the development, translation and delivery of English and bilingual Spanish visitor programming at a variety of venues throughout the aquarium. This individual will also be responsible for providing training, coaching and feedback to staff and volunteers on both English and bilingual Spanish visitor programs.

Essential Functions:

Primary responsibility for the delivery of both paid and unpaid programs and tours. These programs include bilingual programs in English and Spanish, lectures, labs, tours, feeding narrations, and theater pieces as needed
Provide support for the Aquarium Adventures team by leading tours on a regular basis including: Family Tours, Feeding Tours, Behind the Scenes Tours, Specialty Tours and other tours as assigned
Develop, deliver and coordinate all training for Aquarium staff who present bilingual public programs at bilingual events
Responsible for development, translation, enhancement and coordination of bilingual training materials for both formal and informal programs
Participate in the development of all bilingual English and Spanish visitor programs
Contribute to maintaining current programs and training materials for both formal and informal programs and tours throughout the Aquarium
Responsible for providing support to interpretive staff and volunteer guides, assisting in training, coaching and feedback of programs and tours on a regular basis
Provide assistance to Guest Experience operations by providing guests with programmatic and interpretive information
Act as a resource about marine science topics and natural history information for staff and volunteers
Must work weekends, some evenings and all bilingual events
Required Knowledge/Experience

Bachelor’s degree required, preference for a degree in natural science, education or theatre
At least 2 years’ experience delivering educational, theatrical, or related programming in an informal setting.
Oral and written fluency in Spanish and English
Demonstrated ability to deliver educational programs in a fun, scientifically accurate, and engaging manner
Demonstrated writing ability
Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work with a variety of types of professional, intern and volunteers of various ages
Background in marine science
Public speaking, storytelling or theatrical training and/or experience
