The Prospect Management Analyst works in the Office of Advancement for the Smithsonian Institution and conducts complex, high quality data analysis that supports the fundraising goals of the Institution. The incumbent will develop reporting tools aimed at strategically managing and tracking the general quality of fundraiser portfolios and the prospect pool, and create processes that ensure the quality of prospect, team and solicitation data for all prospects. In addition, the incumbent will work directly with development officers in managing and analyzing their portfolios and solicitation pipelines. This is a high-level position in the Office of Advancement that works with advancement staff at all levels across the Institution. This position reports to the Director of Prospect Management.

Job Requirements
Qualified candidates will have:

A bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three to five years in prospect management data analysis experience
Knowledge of and experience with complex, high quality data analysis techniques to include pipeline analysis, forecasting and building predictive models
Ability to initiate and manage projects related to the analysis of internal and external data, and provide conclusions, value-added recommendations and inform data-driven decisions
Ability to translate data into useable information for the formation and execution of fundraising strategies
Knowledge and understanding of a wide range of principles, technical methods and practices of fundraising, including prospect research and management
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present and deliver information effectively; and experience working with highly confidential information
Ability to work independently
Strong desktop computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

The Office of Advancement oversees and guides the fundraising efforts of the entire Smithsonian and is home to the central development organization for the Institution. In addition to raising significant support for a variety of Smithsonian initiatives, the Office of Advancement provides support services to advancement offices across the Institution. The office engages with staff throughout the Smithsonian in accomplishing their goals.
