The Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate (the EMK Institute) is dedicated to educating the public about our government, invigorating public discourse, encouraging participatory democracy, and inspiring the next generation of citizens and leaders.

This Role: 

Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Marketing Coordinator will assist in the development and implementation of strategic marketing plans, processes, procedures, and policies for the Institute.  He/she will create and edit marketing materials and support events as needed.  This is a temporary position expected to continue for up to 6 months.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist with developing marketing materials for various channels including video, print, social media, web, mail, email, radio, television, etc.
  • Research, develop, and maintain databases for all targeted audiences
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned

 

The Ideal Candidate will possess:

  • Experience working in a collaborative, start-up environment
  • Excellent project management (task prioritization by deadline, task delivery under pressured deadlines and parallel priorities)
  • Meticulous, organized, efficient and professionalized standards for execution of all administrative procedures and detail-oriented tasks.
  • Ability to demonstrate individual leadership and work collaboratively on a team
  • Ability to represent the Institute to the general public

 

This is a temporary position (expected to continue for up to 6 months) and not eligible for benefits or unemployment compensation.

Qualifications:

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor degree in marketing, business, communications, or other related discipline
  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience required
  • Experience developing marketing materials and strategies designed to utilize effective marketing, media, and communication channels
  • Experience with tourism and/or education marketing preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Basic database and project management tools
  • Knowledge of Google apps and Microsoft office tools
