About this Organization:
Founded in 1853, the Old Colony Historical Society is one of New England’s oldest historical societies. Our mission today is: “to collect, care for, and interpret the history of the Taunton region, collaborating with the community to share meaningful connections between the past, the present, and the future.” To fulfill this mission, the Society maintains a museum of regionally important objects and decorative arts. The Society is also home of the Hurley research library which specializes in local history and genealogy. Learn more online at http://www.oldcolonyhistoricalsociety.org/.
