Fruitlands Museum in Harvard, MA seeks an organized, detail-oriented individual with excellent customer service skills to manage development operations and coordinate our membership program, annual giving appeals and fundraising events.  The Development Coordinator will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the development office including database management, gift entry, membership fulfillment, and gift acknowledgements. This position will manage the membership programs and be responsible for membership recruitment, retention and cultivation.  He/she will also coordinate membership and fundraising events and help develop new strategies to further the Museum’s fundraising goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Process all gifts and produce acknowledgements for gifts in a timely manner.

Serve as a primary manager of Museum’s database (ALTRU)

Manage membership programs including recruitment, renewal and fulfillment

Research and implement new strategies to grow membership

Leverage new technologies and appeal methods to increase engagement and acquisition

Identify, research, and cultivate prospects to support the museum’s strategic goals

Create and manage the process and timetable for individual gift solicitations

Generate mailing lists and reports

Work with the staff to keep a smooth and steady stream of donor communications

Develop and support Museum special events to ensure donor engagement

Assist with planning and implementation of Museum fundraising events
Work as team member to reach Development goals and implement the yearly Development Plan

Other duties as assigned; occasional evenings and weekends required

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

2 -3 years experience with gift processing and donor database management

Customer service oriented person with strong organizational, administration, telephone, and interpersonal communications skills

Familiarity with development database software, Altru and Research Point preferred

Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel

Excellent communication skills, including oral, written and listening skills

Interest in museum administration and fundraising

Experience in fundraising events a plus

Self starter, flexible and able to respond to multiple demands
