The Communications and Marketing Manger is responsible for strategy, planning and implementation of Museum internal and external public relations and communications campaigns, and initiatives to increase public awareness of and support for the Museum’s mission and goals. The position is responsible for strategic thinking, planning and execution to 1) attract a significant number of guests annually, 2) heighten awareness of the Museum regionally, nationally and internationally, and 3) attract new audience and increase repeat visitation and 3) create awareness for all areas of earned and contributed revenues.  The Communications and Marketing Manger reports to the Sr. Director of Marketing and works in collaboration with administrators, staff, and board members.

Job Requirements

Education/Experience Requirements: This position requires a skilled communicator.  Extensive experience writing and pitching media, as well as an ability to initiate, execute, and manage cohesive communication and marketing campaigns ,strong social media skills, and a track record of building and maintaining promotional and community relationships.

Bachelor degree in public relations, communications or marketing required. A minimum of 5 years’ related experience. Working knowledge of local Milwaukee and relevant media outlets is a plus.

Must be an independent worker, creative thinker, and energetic team player and should be able to work well in a fast-paced environment, and able to juggle competing priorities and projects with grace and a sense of humor.
