ASL Lexical Database

With Ariel M. Cohen-Goldberg & Karen Emmorey

One of the most important tools in psycholinguistic research is a lexical database. Databases such as these make it possible to understand how various properties of words affect language processing. Currently, there is no comprehensive database of American Sign Language. We are working to develop a database of 1,000 signs that includes lexical frequency, neighborhood density, part of speech, phonological description, and iconicity.
