Rosanna Warren: John Holmes Memorial Poetry Reading on April 3rd


Rosanna Warren, author of 4 collections of poetry and a book of criticism, has received awards from the Academy of American Poets and The American Academy of Arts & Letters, among others. Warren will be reading her poetry in the library on April 3rd. Warren’s most recent book of poems, Ghost in a Red Hat, comprises “something of a ghost story”, covering private experiences as well as political, historical, and public subjects. Copyright and Fair Use Workshops


Fair use and copyright laws for images and sounds can be complicated. Check out the upcoming Tisch Library workshop, “Fair Use and Copyright for Images, Video, and Music” for answers. New Summer Fellowships for Graduate Research in the Humanities and Arts

Tufts Arts & Sciences graduate students in the humanities and arts may apply for a $4,000 summer research fellowship that provides working space within Tisch Library and support from a research librarian who will assist with the use of Tisch resources and help with access to other needed collections. The award supports the use of the library’s collection in the writing of a master’s theses or doctoral dissertation. Deadline: April 19. For more information, see here.

Author Talk Featuring Sarah Sobieraj


On Thursday, February 28, 3:30 PM, in the Hirsh Reading Room, Sarah Sobieraj will discuss her book, Soundbitten: The Perils of Media Centered Political Activism, which illuminates the relationship between news and activist organizations, and shows that media-centrism is not only ineffective, but also toxic to group life. The event is sponsored by Friends of Tufts Libraries. The 12th Maxine Newberg Gordon, J70, Book Prize will precede the talk.
