NWDC diagnostic services are funded directly by our member states and federal agencies and submissions may be made only through them. Private citizens who wish to report a wildlife disease or mortality event must contact their local state fish and wildlife agency.
NWDC provides full diagnostic capabilities to its member agencies. Postmortem testing and ante-mortem testing, including serology and biopsy service, are provided by our cooperating laboratories. Additional special tests are available through a large network of collaborators and private and federal laboratories.
In addition to diagnostics, NWDC also provides full interpretation of test results and guidance in their management implications. Data will be accessible in the web-based information system managed by the Canadian Cooperative Wildlife Health Centre.
