New Annotations

Antiphon

Create your initial annotation by following these instructions:

  1. Login to Perseids
  2. Click “New Treebank Annotation” link on the Perseids home screen.
  3. Choose Arethusa.
  4. On the input screen that comes up, click  “Toggle text selector”
  5. Select Quotation Sources from the 1st dropdown menu, Antiphon from the 2nd dropdown, and keep the defaults of “Against the Stepmother for Poisoning” for the next 2
  6. Enter 1 in From Section and 31 in To Section
  7. Click Retrieve Text
  8. After the text loads, click Edit
  9. Wait a few moments, the treebank annotation will open in the Arethusa Editor
  10. Annotate and Save and/or Click Exit to return to Perseids

Subsequently, access your annotation directly from the Perseids home screen . It should be named “Treebank of Antiph. 1 perseus-grc1 1-31“. Click on this link on your home screen to access the sentence list, and link into Arethusa from there.

To compare your annotations to Professor Gorman’s:

  1. Login to Perseids
  2. Copy this link into your browser location bar : LINK TBD
  3. Click Compare

Lysias

Create your initial annotation by following these instructions:

  1. Login to Perseids
  2. Click “New Treebank Annotation” link on the Perseids home screen.
  3. Choose Arethusa.
  4. On the input screen that comes up, click  “Toggle text selector”
  5. Select Quotation Sources from the 1st dropdown menu, Lysias from the 2nd dropdown, and select the text of interest from the remaining two dropdowns.
  6. Enter the range of sections you want to work on in the From and To Section input boxes.
    1. Valid section values for “On the Murder of Eratosthenes” are 1-50
    2. Valid section values for “Against Alcibiades 1” are 1-47
    3. Valid section values for “Against Alcibiades 2” are 1-12
  7. Click Retrieve Text
  8. After the text loads, click Edit
  9. Wait a few moments, the treebank annotation will open in the Arethusa Editor
  10. Annotate and Save and/or Click Exit to return to Perseids

Subsequently, access your annotation directly from the Perseids home screen . It should be named something like “Treebank of Lys. …” with the … being replaced with details of the text and sections selected.. Click on this link on your home screen to access the sentence list, and link into Arethusa from there.

  2. For On the Murder of Eratosthenes: Copy this link into your browser location bar : LINK TBD

  5. Click Compare
