The Office of the Vice Provost for Research (OVPR) and Tufts Technology Services (TTS) are working to implement a Research Administration System (RAS) that enables researchers to create funding proposals, route them electronically for approval, and submit them directly to the funding agency. Once implemented, RAS will affect most faculty, researchers, staff, and departments across all three campuses. After a lengthy evaluation process to compare the available research administration products, Tufts has chosen Kuali Coeus as its new Research Administration System.

Benefits

RAS will provide a central repository for data associated with the entire grant proposal process from development to submission and reporting. They system will facilitate the submission of research proposals to multiple funding sources. Data will be secure and accurate with advanced technology and data validations. RAS will have the ability to connect directly with systems of records such as those for HR, Finance, and Tufts Data Warehouse to reduce errors and redundancy.
