Our coding for the sailbot boat is underway. We are using LabView 2012 to program the Arudino that controls the boat. Dominic Guru, a sophomore majoring in Mechanical Engineering, is testing our servos using some simple code:

 

Dominic successfully controlled the servo with a potentiometer and could read both the desired angle, and actual measured angle. PID controller soon to follow…

    We actually decided not to use a PID, and instead used a state machine. The PID was too elegant of a control system for the basic sailing our boat needs to do.
