**We are not presently accepting applications for this fund**
Goals
The goals of the fund are to:
- Support the creation of sustainable open access digital collections of unique research materials created by Tufts faculty.
- Aid Tufts faculty who want to make research collections available for open scholarship but who do not have other sources of funding to cover the cost.
- Raise visibility of the digital preservation and access environment available to Tufts faculty.
The fund is intended to support digitization, metadata creation, and preparation of access surrogates. This fund is intended to support small-scale digitization projects, and has only limited funding available. Faculty with large collections should contact the DCA for a consultation to determine alternative funding options.

Eligible Collections
Eligible collections must meet the following criteria:
- Materials must be the intellectual property of the applicant.
- The applicant must be willing to grant Tufts University an in-perpetuity license to make the materials available on the web, via the Tufts Digital Library.
- Materials must be eligible for open access without concern for confidentiality or privacy, particularly with regard to personally identifiable information.
- By the end of FY2013, materials must be deposited in the Tufts Digital Library and all funds must be spent.
- Collections must be of a size and scope that is appropriate for the level of funding available.
In order to ascertain if collections meet this criteria, applicants should schedule a consultation with Digital Collections and Archives staff prior to applying for funding. The consultation report from DCA must be included with the application.
