Questions: is tech a distraction & how do students feel about it?
Survey of students, n=70
Literacies (academic & electronic):
Cognitive
Metacongitative
Affective
Bloom’s taxonomy (original & revised) – electronic devises does not teach these skills (but can help get to the “creating” level.)
Students think that google give them the correct answer, lack evaluation skills, engage more with info on paper than electronically.
Video projects as case study, these staff help a few 100 students do video assignments from assignment initiation to rubric creation & grading. Hard to fake yourself in a video, can increase engagement.
Showcase of videos on their website. Happy to share survey instrument.
