Judge Richard Goldstone, who published the scathing 2009 UN Human Rights Council report about Israel’s actions in Operation Cast-Lead, admits in this op-ed that his report lacked evidence: “If I had known then what I know now, the Goldstone Report would have been a different document.”
Goldstone acknowledges that his report mistakenly gauges Israel’s intentionality in war crimes, stating that recent investigations “indicate that civilians were not intentionally targeted as a matter of policy.” In addition, he admits to the UN Human Rights Council’s history of bias against Israel. – April, 2011
