Why did the Israeli government make the heart-wrenching decision to free 1,027 prisoners, including notorious terrorists, for one Israeli soldier, Gilad Shalit? What are the security implications of the prisoner swap for the State of Israel? How will the deal affect other regional actors in the Middle East, including Egypt, Turkey, Syria and Iran?

If you are interested in hearing the answers to these questions and discussing the fate of the region after the return of Gilad Shalit, come join us for a conversation with Professor of International Law and Counter-Terrorism Amos Guiora!

Amos N. Guiora is an Israeli-American professor of law at The S. J. Quinney College of Law, University of Utah, and an expert on drone attacks. He is a widely cited expert on Legal Aspects of Counterterrorism, Terror Financing, International Law, and Morality in Armed Conflict.
