The Academic Technology Fellows program is a UIT Educational & Scholarly Technology Services (ESTS) initiative that employs Tufts students to help us meet the educational technology needs of our University-wide clients. The Fellows help with client consultations, design and develop custom technology solutions, and provide support on the wide array of ESTS tools and services. UIT Research & Geospatial Technology Services (RGTS) also participates in sponsoring AT Fellows who help to faciliate research technology projects and services.
We have just finished the second year of the program. This year the Fellows took it upon themselves to strengthen their presence on the web in the form of an educational technology blog and audio podcast. The goal of these publications is to broadcast to Tufts and the wider educational technology community ideas, resources, and commentary on how technology can support teaching and learning from a student-centric point of view.
The AT Fellows took turns to write a blog article that would focus on a particular tool or genre of tools describing how, from their point of view, this type of tool can be used effectively to support activities from note-taking to authoring assignments to preparing for employment.
The podcast took the form of an AT Fellows radio show, each episode of which would find the AT Fellows chatting about technology and interviewing professionals involved with technology at Tufts.
