SAVORY GREEN, a sustainable catering company owned based in Belmont, is holding its workshop on Sustainability in the Food Industry. Owner Tracy Stamos recently spoke at Tufts as part of the ENVS Program Lunch & Learn series.
Here’s an excerpt from event page: “Upon discussions with people over time, I mostly observe people’s great surprise when they find out what they are truly eating. If the prices are cheap, there is a reason! Today’s food world has dramatically changed. Unfortunately, people are not aware of what these changes entail. Time magazine’s cover story of August 21, 2009 entailed “Getting Real About the High Price of Cheap Food”, which is what Savory Green continues to address in our business, through educational classes, lectures and our sustainable green food services. Come learn about today’s food, and we will do some taste-testing analyses. We will discuss our findings over a healthy bite!”
Cost: $75.00 includes materials, hand-outs, food
