Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE) is seeking a membership coordinator to support the memb
ership team and AASHE membership in a sales and marketing role. This full-time position will be responsible for soliciting membership renewals, processing membership applications, updating member information in the database and on the website, and producing membership-related reports. Successful candidates will have an associate or bachelor’s degree with at least two years of experience in member recruitment, sales or marketing. A background or interest in higher education sustainability is a plus. The screening of applications will begin Jan. 23, 2012.

The basic responsibility of the Sustainability Coordinator is to advance Union College’s efforts to become a leader in campus sustainability. The selected candidate will work with the entire campus community to develop a sustainability agenda for integrating sustainability values and practices into the College’s planning processes, facilities operations and design, research activities, curriculum, and extracurricular life of the College; will educate the campus community about sustainability issues and Union College’s initiatives; will engage all facets of the campus community in reducing our environmental footprint and carbon emissions; and will report on Union’s progress under the American College and University Presidents’ Climate Commitment (ACUPCC).
