March 16th & 17th: MIT Energy Conference

When: March 16th & 17th (Friday/Saturday)

Where: Park Plaza Castle/Westin Copley Place, Boston

What is the MIT Energy Conference?

The MIT Energy Conference is an annual two-day conference that brings together leaders in industry, academia, government, and finance to deliver critical knowledge and independent analysis on emerging trends in energy technologies, policies, and markets.

The seventh annual Conference will be held on the 16th and 17th of March, 2012.  Friday, March
16th will feature several in-depth workshops, a keynote fireside chat, and our annual energy showcase. The ticketed conference on March 17th at the Westin Copley Place will harness the expertise of our invited speakers to engage in focused, fact-based panels across several high-relevance topics.

This Year’s Theme

From the failure at Fukishima to the fall of Solyndra, the past year has been witness to several destabilizing events across the known energy landscape.  Nevertheless, our collective interest requires that we navigate this challenging moment to develop and deliver the impactful energy solutions in technology, policy, and industry that will secure a sustainable energy future.

Despite an ambient sense of uncertainty around the globe, a different spirit animates MIT — where the pace of research discovery carries on, students and faculty of wide-ranging discipline interact, and critical new concepts, collaborations, and ventures emerge year after year.  In following with this spirit, the 2012 MIT Energy Conference directors are pleased to announce that this year’s conference will focus on the challenge, and promise, of Insight and Innovation in Uncertain Times.
