The 2012 Good Jobs Green Jobs Eastern Regional Conference is the nation’s premier event for sharing ideas and strategies on building the green economy — and creating good jobs along the way.  Now in its fifth year the conference continues to bring together people from different walks of life together to promote, preserve, and build coalitions that create good jobs and preserve our economic and environmental future.  We welcome students to attend and add their voice to this critical conversation. The reduced student registration is just $95* (regular registration is $195).  With this, you will have access to exciting plenaries, over 50 workshops, and numerous opportunities to network with others of your similar interest.  Register today for the Good Jobs, Green Jobs Eastern Conference and use the passcode “student2012”.

U.S. Senator Christopher Coons and Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter will be there to recognize the growing movement to create good jobs that are also good for the environment. The workshops will feature experts and leaders from sustainable industries, workers building a more sustainable economy, and activists working every day to create good jobs that are also good for our environment. For example the “Innovations in Green Technical Education: The Sustainability Workshop and the E-House Initiative” workshop will showcase students working on real-world projects to improve energy efficiency, address the challenges of climate change, and lead Philadelphia into the green economy.  All of these opportunities and more will be available at the Good Jobs, Green Jobs Eastern Conference, so register today.

And for those who would like to lend a helping hand, we have volunteering opportunities available as well.  Whether you are helping at the registration desk, greeting conference participants or making sure workshops run smoothly, volunteers are a vital part in helping make the Conference a highly successful event, year after year.  To show appreciation for the great work volunteers do, we will waive the registration fee for any individual who commits to volunteering for six hours over the course of the two-day conference.  Contact Ashley Haugo at ashleyh@bluegreenalliance.org to sign up.
