A national program on public radio is offering an internship (8 hrs/week @ $12/hr) to assist in promoting our programs online. Work with an established producer based at a small studio in Belmont Center and learn about the field of public radio. The intern will work primarily on a project to promote content relating to environmental responsibility. The internship requires a very dependable person who can commit to 8 hours per week at our office.

Head to LA on October 14th for the 2012 Student Summit of the annual Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE) conference.
At the summit, students have the opportunity to present their unique sustainability projects. They can each contribute their ideas, resources, and opinions on sustainability efforts, and will have the opportunity to network with other students from different schools after these student presentations. The summit will also include a variety of workshops that can guide students in starting sustainability efforts at their school.
The summit will also feature keynote speaker Billy Parish, the Co-Founder and President of Solar Mosaic, a solar investment marketplace. Among his many accomplishments, he founded the Energy Action Coalition, the largest youth advocacy organization in the world focused on climate crisis, and was honored as a “Climate Hero” by Rolling Stone magazine.
The Student Summit provides opportunities for information and resources to start initiatives on your campus. AASHE also provides students with the opportunity to submit their individual research, as well as apply for their two awards: the Student Sustainability Leadership Award and the Student Research on Campus Sustainability Award.

Green Streets Initiative (GSI), a Cambridge-based nonprofit involved in promoting sustainable and healthy transportation, is seeking a Fundraising/Development Intern for the fall semester and beyond. In this role, you will work with GSI to expand and sustain sponsorship and partnerships with community corporations, retailers and institutions. Candidates should have a genuine interest in and enthusiasm for the GSI mission 1+ years’ work experience in related field, excellent written and verbal communications skills and more. The Central Transportation Planning Staff (CTPS) of the Boston Region MetropolitanArea Planning Organization has openings for two interns in its GIS group. These are paid positions. The interns will be responsible for: Editing, updating, and performing some QA/QC on attribute data for very large GIS vector data sets, based on data collected in the field, conflating two very large GIS vector data sets, based on well-defined criteria for different classes of records in the data sets. Required skills: At least 6 months experience using ESRI’s ArcGIS tools (ArcMap andArcCatalog), particularly using the editor. Knowledge of and/or experience withArcSDE is a plus, as is knowledge of and/or experience working with linear referencing systems. Hours: 37.5 hours per week, during regular business hours (M-F, 9-5).
