Environmental Defense Fund Climate Corps Fellows

The Environmental Defense Fund is now accepting applications for the EDF Climate Corps through their 2014 Fellow Online Application Portal. This program places top-tier graduate students in companies, cities, and universities to build and deliver customized energy management strategies and solutions. Working directly with staff from operations, finance and sustainability departments, the EDF Climate Corps fellows spend 10-12 weeks as energy problem solvers and organizational change agents.

Along with many other benefits such as training and professional development opportunities, fellows are paid $1,250 per week and are reimbursed for certain travel expenses. EDF plans to recruit 120 fellows and anticipates receiving over 700 applications. Assistant Professor of Environmental Science (Allegheny College, PA)

The Environmental Science Department at Allegheny College invites applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning August 2014.  We seek an individual with interdisciplinary teaching and research interests in environmental science and studies and a strong commitment to undergraduate education.  We are particularly interested in candidates with teaching and research expertise in energy efficiency, energy conservation, and sustainable energy. The ideal candidate will engage students in quantitative lab or field-based classes in energy efficiency, renewable energy, green building, engineering, or urban planning. A Ph.D. and previous teaching experience strongly preferred.

Assistant Professor of Environmental Biology (Springfield College, MA)

Springfield College invites applications for a tenure track position in Environmental Biology. The College seeks an environmental biologist who can teach introductory level biology, upper division courses in ecology and plant biology, and upper division courses in support of a new interdisciplinary environmental science major. Preference will be given to candidates who are excellent and innovative teachers who can engage undergraduate students in research and fieldwork projects in environmental biology. Teaching responsibility is 4 courses a semester; scholarly research agenda required.

Assistant Professor, Sustainable Science Management (U Hawai’i Maui)

This position will be primarily responsible for teaching lower division and upper division courses in the Sustainable Science Management (SSM) program, which may require expertise in energy, water, natural systems, policy processes, engineering, island issues and other fields; all in the interdisciplinary context which defines contemporary sustainability education approaches, continuing development of the SSM four year BAS degree program, development of new curriculum, outcomes and assessment strategies for courses, service-learning/internship opportunities, advising and counseling students, and assisting in campus-related activities, participating in faculty/administrative committees, community service, and in-service training, maintaining an approved program of professional development and applied research in the field.
