The professor will encourage the development of a strong interdisciplinary design community across SCAD locations and collaborate with related academic disciplines and the local community.

Design for sustainability at SCAD infuses social science methodologies into design disciplines. Through in-depth analysis of environmental, social and economic factors, students learn to create innovative design solutions to individual, local and global challenges. This position provides project management for clients wishing to certify their residential and commercial buildings through different green building rating systems. Projects may include certifications in various LEED rating systems, National Green Building Standard, ENERGY STAR, and Enterprise Green Communities, among others. An undergraduate four-year degree in engineering, environmental design, construction management, architecture, or other related fields is required; and four years of full-time professional experience (preferably in multi-family residential design or construction) is preferred.
