Central Africa Natural Resource Policy Specialist, World Resources Inst., Brazzaville, Republic of Congo

World Resources Institute (WRI), an action oriented global organization most recently voted as #1 environment & natural resource think tank in the world is consistently recommended by staff as one of the “most desired organizations to work for”. WRI seeks a Central Africa Natural Resource Policy Specialist to lead its policy analysis, capacity-building, and outreach activities in ROC and DRC. The Policy Specialist will be responsible for day-to-day management of the policy components of the project strategy in conjunction with WRI’s Washington office as well as civil society, government, and NGO partners in ROC and DRC.   1. Cristina works for the Angolan Government as head of planning at the Cazenga, Sambizanga and Rangel Urban Renewal Office in Luanda. Also a writer and Lev’Arte Movement member, she created a debate program called Sharp Table, which builds public discourse and knowledge around themes such as human rights, climate change, environment, leadership, property rights, housing and citizen participation. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture and a master’s degree in GIS from the Universidade Técnica in Lisbon, Portugal. At MIT, she will focus on the role of community leaders, public participation and local media broadcasting in urban planning.
