Boston Local Food Festival

October 6, 2013

From the Sustainable Business Network:

We are expecting over 100 of your local food producers from farmers, fishermen, specialty food, food trucks, local restaurants, and organizations focusing on healthy food and fitness. Each vendor at the festival will bring something unique and New England for you to enjoy. We hope that attendees will see the festival as not just a fair- but a true farmers market. The festival will be ideal for buying your groceries if you are looking for fresh produce, raw chicken, fish, and countless specialty items such as cheese, yogurt, milk, granola, jam, bread, sauces, olive oil, teas, tofu, chocolates, cookies, and more.

Red Fire Farm will be at the festival for the fourth year in a row, showcasing a beautiful array of harvest food. Enterprise Farm will be bringing their popular bus carrying farm fresh produce! There will be fresh milk for sale from High Lawn Farm and fresh cranberries from Cape Cod. Also, be sure to check out the countless specialty vendors like Nashoba Brook Bakery and Seeds and Songs Artisan Bakery and Catering for fresh baked breads, Grandy Oats for local and organic granola, La La’s Harvest for Local Jam using local produce, and Nobscot Artisan Cheese for your favorite artisan cheese. All in all, there will be countless amazing products for you to purchase and bring home from Boston Local Food Festival. Our vendors are the heart of the festival and supporting them not only supports our local economy, but also the ever growing local food system here in New England that we are coming together to celebrate. So bring your reusable bags and join us on the Greenway, we can hardly wait to celebrate New England’s largest one-day farmers market with you soon!

Make sure to save room, as we hope our huge spread of farmer market foods will leave you hungry for more! Wait until you try mouth watering dishes for $6 or less from our local food restaurants and food trucks, sourcing their perishable foods from New England! Vendors will include Mei Mei Street Kitchen, Ula Cafe, Valicenti Organico, Sportello, Flour Bakery and Cafe, Volante Farms, Granary Tavern, Flat Bread Catering, Blue Glass Cafe, Stir It Up Cuisine, and many more! What might be most exciting about the restaurants and food trucks, is because they are sourcing what is most local and fresh, many will not know what exactly they will be bringing until soon before the festival. Stay tuned for updates on restaurant bites!
