You’ve read about it in the news and have maybe even participated in the discussion or campaign on your campus – divesting the campus endowment from fossil fuel resources is a move that campuses are considering nationwide. While two institutions, Hampshire College and Unity College, have actively passed policies to remove all endowment funds from fossil fuels, several student groups throughout the country are rallying to encourage their administrations to do the same. The popularity of this issue presents a great opportunity to discuss fossil fuel divestment alongside other sustainable investment opportunities, allowing colleges and universities to consider what choice is right for their campus.
This webinar will cover the topics of investment transparency, divestment of endowment resources from fossil fuels, sustainable investment strategies and options for higher education, and how to engage your campus in the discussion.
Webinar presenters include:
• Dan Apfel, Executive Director, Responsible Endowments Coalition
• Jillian Buckholz, Senior Programs Coordinator, AASHE
• Jamie Henn, Communication Director, 350.org
• Jesse Pyles, Sustainability Coordinator, Unity College
