This half-day workshop was developed in collaboration between the Stanford University Persuasive Technology Lab and the GreenerU Sustainability & Behavior team. Using the Fogg Behavior Model and the hands-on experience of the Stanford researchers and GreenerU, this workshop was created specifically for campus sustainability practitioner who want to improve their knowledge and skills in changing behavior. Behavior change is not that hard when you have the right tools.
Are there behaviors on your campus that you want to change? Do you want to get students to compost in the dining hall, staff to carpool, faculty to turn off their computers, and everyone to use reusable bottles? Behavior change is one of the most confounding aspects of working towards sustainability. This workshop offers a simple, practical framework for understanding and influencing sustainable behavior change on your campus and beyond. Using the methods offered by the workshop, you will gain practical skills to pinpoint and change user experiences, and your new perspective on human behavior will allow you to learn more each day.
