DEADLINE: COP19 Youth Delegation to UNFCCC

The SustainUS Agents of Change program is now accepting applications to join the SustainUS youth delegation to the 19th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, to be held in Poland in November 2013. Delegates will work with each other and with international youth in advance of the conference to educate themselves and their communities, develop policy priorities, acquire skills in effective lobbying, and engage the broader youth community in action related to international biodiversity policy. Applications are due by May 12.

Boston Is Outdoors

Young staff from the Appalachian Mountain Club are leading a series of FREE walks, bike rides, and paddling trips in Boston for college students and young professionals, and we want YOU to join us! The adventures will start this Tuesday, April 23 at 5:30 PM and run for the next five weeks. This program is organized by the Appalachian Mountain Club staff and made possible by an Outdoor Nation grant.

May 7, 2013  – Urban AdvenTours
Team up with Boston’s Urban AdvenTours! Their Bikes at Night tour shows you the city as the sun goes down and the lights come up, focusing on Boston’s beautiful waterfront, passing by Long Wharf and the Rose Kennedy Greenway. Your tour includes an individually-fitted bike, helmet, water, and, of course, a friendly and knowledgeable guide who will lead you on your travels. The tour is 1.5-2 hours long and covers 5-7 miles. What’s the fastest way to get from Davis Square to South Station during rush hour? Find out on the morning of May 7th. Will the driver, the bicyclist or the “T” rider be the first to arrive outside of South Station? Stop by the start or come to the finish event. Breakfast provided at both locations. Award ceremony at finish line.

Green Medford is organizing its third annual Earth Day Medford Square Cleanup, on Saturday, May 4, from 10 a.m. to noon. Meet in the parking lot behind City Hall near the site of the Medford Farmers Market (One City Hall Mall).

Join us for a walk down the Rose Kennedy Greenway! We’ll start at South Station (right on the Red Line!) and make our way through downtown Boston. The walk ends in the scenic North End where we can stop at Mike’s Pastry for a treat.
