Sustainability Programs Coordinator, A Better City (Boston)

This grant funded position provides an opportunity for an individual to assist in the management and programming of the Challenge for Sustainability, a national leading green business engagement program managed by A Better City. In this position you will work directly with businesses and buildings to measure and report on their environmental impacts and provide assistance and guidance in their efforts to increase their sustainability with a focus in the areas of greenhouse gas reduction, energy efficiency, waste reduction, and transportation. Int’l Sustainability Professionals of Tomorrow training – apply now

This winter session, CLI is facilitating the iSPOT Training – International Sustainability Professionals of Tomorrow – in collaboration with ISSP. Kick off the New Year in China and get your sustainability career on track! Specifically designed for college juniors and seniors, the iSPOT Training will transition undergraduate students into young professionals with highly structured professional development workshops and a practitioner-based learning environment. From the bustling streets and skyscrapers of Shanghai, to the mystifying mountains of Guilin, to the Great Wall and Forbidden City of Beijing, students will learn the four key areas of organizational assessment and the strategy behind sustainable systems decision-making. We will also share tips on where to find jobs, what skills are needed in different fields, and how to market yourself in a highly competitive and global job market. Our goal is to prepare you to land your dream green job when you graduate!

C2C Fellowship Workshops

 

Are you an undergrad or recent grad? Do you aspire to be a leader in sustainability in business and/or politics?

Bard Center for Environmental Politics   trains C2C fellows to become exactly that. They have upcoming weekend training sessions, including one close to home, at Bentley University in Waltham, MA.

Students can apply now. Applications are due two weeks prior to each workshop. Learn more about the benefits of becoming a Bard C2C Fellow here. Cost for the weekend trainings, including food (and lodging for those traveling more than an hour), is $30. Registration scholarships are available, and students can often apply to their student governments for travel support as well.

This is a fantastic opportunity to build your skills as a sustainability leader and build your network of others who are passionate about changing the world.

Citi Sustainability Internship – Citi Bank (New York, NY)

Overview: Will provide programmatic and research support to a three-person team in Citi’s Corporate Sustainability unit, which oversees environmental and human rights issues for Citi. Citi’s Corporate Sustainability program is implemented in partnership with Citi’s three primary units: Institutional Clients Group, Consumer Banking, and Operations & Technology.

This internship will be a full-time position for 10 weeks during June-August, 2013. Information on Citi’s environmental sustainability program is available on our Environment website: http://www.citigroup.com/citi/environment/.

Job Responsibilities:
-Provide strategic and research support for Citi’s employee volunteer Green Team program.
- Support the unit’s strategic planning process through research and development of presentations
- Provide support to develop Citi’s energy efficiency initiative, including helping to identify potential thought leadership opportunities
- Provide programmatic, research and logistical support on other program initiatives and events

Qualifications:
- Current student or recent graduate of an MBA, MPA, or similar program
- Knowledge of environmental issues as they impact business
- Excellent attention to detail, well organized
- Flexible team player
- Ability to adjust deliverables to match evolving corporate priorities
- Strong written and oral communications skills
- Excels in a high performance environment, with quick turn-arounds and changing priorities

Business Development Internship – Green City Growers (Boston, MA)

Green City Growers, Massachusetts’ premiere vegetable gardening business, is seeking an intern for spring 2013. GCG specializes in raised-bed garden installations, maintenance, and education for residential, business, restaurant and community locations. We are a small business (6 full time staff), and operate out of Union Square in Somerville.

GCG is seeking a positive, driven individual interested in immersing themselves in a growing business. Your time at GCG will be focused on sales, marketing, and business development. You will learn many aspects of running a small business. If you are looking to gain a wide variety of professional experience, this internship is for you. Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Creating and executing newsletters
  • Blogging and utilizing social networks
  • Emailing and following up on sales leads
  • Assistance in scheduling and coordinating workshops out of the GCG Office space
  • Attending and finding events
  • Track and analyze marketing data
  • Aid in the development of new sales techniques

The position will last until the end of May. The internship is part time (2-3 days a week). Candidates will only be considered if they can commit to the position until the end of May.
