The Environmental Studies Program at Oberlin College invites applications for the position of A.J. Lewis Center Facilities Manager and Community Outreach Coordinator. This is a full-time, 12-month Administrative and Professional Staff position reporting to the Director of Environmental Studies or his/her designate. We seek applicants with a combination of strong technical and interpersonal skills who are interested in enhancing the environmental performance and educational value of a facility named the most important green building in the last 30 years by Architect magazine.

The Director of Conference & Events provides managerial oversight and direction for the coordination and planning of the AASHE Annual Conference & Expo as well as logistical support for other meetings including workshops, retreats and other events. Specific duties include site visit planning, pre and onsite registration management, scheduling, vendor management, room management, budgeting, contract negotiation, Request for Proposal management, site research, and hotel negotiation. AASHE’s Annual Conference is a multi-faceted event that brings together more than 2,300 attendees to participate in pre and post conference workshops and tours plus two days of educational sessions with more than 900 presenters, an exhibit hall with more than 90 exhibitors and 150 volunteers.

Make a difference on global warming and clean energy this fall.
Work from campus, 4-7 hours/week.
Global warming is happening and we’re seeing the effects all around us — from dangerous heat waves and droughts to last winter’s snowstorms. And scientists warn it could get much worse unless we act soon.
The good news: we have the solutions. Solar power is taking off, and we’re beginning to harvest energy from the winds off our shores.
But powerful interests, including utility companies and the fossil fuel industry, are threatening to stop clean energy in its tracks.
We’re looking for smart, hard-working students to build the people power it will take to repower Massachusetts with clean energy. Interns will work 4-7 hours per week from campus.
