Executive Assistant – Parks & Recreation (Boston, MA)

Under direction from the Director of Design and Construction and the Chief Landscape Architect, serves as Outreach Coordinator and as administrative aide to a division or department head.  Performs a wide variety of important public outreach and administrative tasks and procedures.  Represents the department as the liaison to diverse neighborhood and community groups, civic associations and non-profit agencies.  Other duties as assigned.

- Coordinate, host and organize Parks Department neighborhood meetings, park opening events, and park groundbreaking events; acting as a liaison with diverse community groups, managing outreach efforts to churches, civic associations, elected officials, funding agencies, and non-profits.
- Responsible for management and expansion of the Park Partners program through stewardship, web-based presence, training and education.  Generate new and innovative fundraising opportunities and expansion of existing programs.  Perform outreach and constituency building, building and increasing awareness and public participation in departmental campaigns and goals.
- Performs related work as required.

Minimum Entrance Qualifications:

At least five (5) years of experience in a public administration capacity is required, of which at least two (2) years should involve community outreach experience.  Work experience with non-profit organizations is helpful but not required.

Sustainability Planner – Cambridge Community Development Department (Cambridge, MA)

The City of Cambridge has an exciting opportunity for a Sustainability Planner to be part of the city’s climate change mitigation and adaptation program.  The Sustainability Planner will focus on developing and implementing policies and programs aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions and engaging residents and businesses in adopting more sustainable practices. Specific responsibilities include development and management of policies, projects or programs aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions; climate outreach and education at events, meetings and lectures; serving as liaison to local environmental non-profits; supporting the activities of resident and business climate change advisory committee including preparing for meetings, organizing and chairing subcommittee meetings; developing written materials for publications and social and other media; best practice research; and administrative duties including responding to telephone inquiries, update/distribute city publications, organizing awards events, benchmark reporting, budget tracking and report and grant writing.

Special Events Intern – Fenway Community Development Corporation (Boston)

Fenway CDC seeks an intern to help plan and implement special events. Intern will be provided with direct supervision from experienced staff as s/he contributes her/his energy and skills to our work. Interest in issues pertaining to seniors and low-and moderate-income residents. Interest and/or experience in special events planning and/or community outreach . Can commit 10 to 20 hours per week for at least 6 weeks. . Senior Community Development Analyst (Boston Fed)

The senior community development analyst is responsible for coordinating outreach activities that support the Boston Fed community development unit’s focal areas, including efforts to strengthen the prospects of New England’s lower-income populations by promoting revitalization in post-industrial cities. The person works with organizations engaged in community development, including nonprofits, municipalities, financial institutions, and foundations to identify needs in lower-income communities and with other staff to develop strategies that effectively utilize partnerships to address these needs. This person engages in a variety of relationship-building activities, including hosting meetings, conferences, and trainings, and must be adept at engaging senior leadership across the region to build strong cross-sector coalitions.
