The sustainability coordinator will provide leadership and coordination to Goucher’s various administrative and co-curricular sustainability efforts. Through a collaborative approach, the coordinator will connect various campus resources and the work of key stakeholders to maximize Goucher’s impact on reducing waste and supporting green initiatives. The incumbent will facilitate student involvement in sustainability initiatives; serve as an advisor to several sustainability-related student clubs; and ensure collaboration between all constituents and appropriate offices. The successful candidate will also develop intentional marketing methods, including print and social media, and update the college’s website with sustainability information.
In addition to these responsibilities, the sustainability coordinator will also serve as a resource to the chairpersons of Goucher’s Environmental Sustainability Advisory Committee (GESAC); collect data and complete annual reports, including greenhouse gas inventory and climate commitment progress reports; and serve as a campus advocate and educator around sustainability initiatives, to include consideration of curricular and co-curricular approaches to educate students about sustainability efforts.

The Sustainability Coordinator Analyst II tasks and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, data management of sustainability data/metrics for annual/bi-annual reporting, enhancing and managing sustainability education/outreach programs, developing and managing LivingGreen certification programs, Coordinating the LivingGreen Fair, updating website content, assisting with the management of student interns and volunteers, planning regular outreach and special events, implementing a communications and outreach program.
Sustainability is a core value on campus and within R&DE Student Housing. The R&DE Student Housing Sustainability Programs Office collaborates with students and staff to foster behavior change, reduce energy and water consumption and waste production in our residences, and to integrate long-term sustainable thinking into how we operate. The Coordinator will support the Office’s goals and report directly to the Sustainability and Utilities Program Manager.
